Part of what makes church a spiritual home is the feeling of connectedness. It is our hope that all in our Cathedral community will find enriching opportunities of connection within the congregation, and beyond!

 

We have ways for all people to be involved in worship, education, mission, and more. Here are a few other ways to be a part of the life of the Cathedral:

All God's Children

All God's Children, the Cathedral's community of LGBTQ+ members, families and friends, exists to welcome all people into the body of Christ, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. The Cathedral of St. Philip, the Diocese of Atlanta, and the Episcopal Church are welcoming faith communities, affirming that all people - including our LGBTQ+ parishioners - are made in the image of God.

Members of this group serve in various ministries throughout the parish and are embraced with open arms. Interested persons, who want to participate with All God's Children, are not required to identify as an LGBTQ+ individual. The only conditional requirement is a loving heart.

LGBTQ+ Ministries in the Diocese of Atlanta

Did you know? The Diocese of Atlanta has a commission specifically dedicated to promoting LGBTQ+ belonging and leadership in Episcopal parishes throughout the diocese—from St. Mary's in Moctezuma to St. Mark's in Dalton! Now more than ever, as a diocese we will, with God's help "seek and serve Christ in all people, loving our neighbors as ourselves."

Episcopal Church Women

If you’re in the Episcopal Church and identify as a woman, Episcopal Church Women is here for you! This lively group of women serve our parish and the Atlanta community in deep and meaningful ways. With five different guilds to choose from, there is something for everyone. Watch for events throughout the year, and know you are invited even if you’re not associated with a specific guild. Foyers

Foyers offers small group dinner opportunities throughout the year. Members of the group take turns hosting—some providing the space, others providing the food, all providing meaningful fellowship. This is a great way to get to know a handful of people without feeling overwhelmed. For more information, contact Canon Lauren Holder.

Newcomers Committee

Our Newcomers Committee hosts gatherings throughout the year to connect new members with parishioners, staff, and Cathedral groups. Some of our best committee members are relative newcomers themselves, familiar with that “new church” feeling, and others are seasoned experts.

Thursday Morning Men's Group

The Thursday Morning Men's group meets monthly for breakfast, discussion, and fellowship. All men are welcome! Each session stands on its own, so come when your schedule permits. Contact Canon George Maxwell for more information.
