The Cathedral of St. Philip offers a comprehensive choral music program ranging from traditional Anglican to 21st Century choral works.
Over 100 volunteer singers, five volunteer organists, and four volunteer pianists along with 12 staff singers and two staff organists, provide music for more than 225 liturgies each year, as well as dozens of weddings and many funerals.
Cathedral Choir, an adult choir, sings at 11:15 a.m. 8:45 a.m. two Sundays each month, and for special services. Rehearses on Thursdays, 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Audition required.
Choral Schola, an adult choir, sings at most Sunday 4:00 p.m. Evensongs and for special services. Rehearses on Thursdays, 9:00 - 9:45 p.m. Audition required.
Girls' Choir is for girls 4th-12th grade. Rehearses Tuesdays, 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. and alternate Thursdays, 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.
Boys' Choir is for boys 8 or 9 through voice change. Rehearses Wednesdays, 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. and and alternate Thursdays, 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.
Junior Girls' Choir is for girls in 3rd grade, rehearses Tuesdays, 6:15 - 7:15 p.m.
Junior Boys' Choir is for boys in 3rd grade, rehearses Wednesday, 4:45 - 5:45 p.m.
allegro: music for young children, boys and girls ages 3 through 2nd grade. Meets Wednesday afternoons; contact Sally Miller, 770-431-1532, to learn more.
Instrumentalists. If you play any musical instrument -- string, brass, or woodwind -- and would like to participate in services, please contact the Music Department at 404-365-1050.
Children's Worship Musicians invite anyone who can play an instrument or lead singing to help with the children's music on Sunday mornings during the children's worship service. Please contact the Mary Hunter Strange at 404-365-1082.
