At the Cathedral of St. Philip, we nurture and support families by promoting a program that recognizes and fosters the unique gifts of our children and allows for faith formation in community.
We enjoy the strength of a program that utilizes curriculum resources of the highest quality. Our teachers are creative, faithful and dedicated, striving to teach through a variety of approaches; prayer and mission are an integral part of this process of faith formation. The three floors of the children’s education wing are alive with excitement and energy on Sunday! Families are welcomed with hospitality from our ministry volunteers. We strive each week to offer experiential learning to the youngest, full members of our Cathedral through Bible stories, worship and the Episcopal liturgy.
Please look for a Green Apron volunteer on Sunday morning if you have questions.
Children's Worship, 8:45 a.m.
Preschool Children's Worship
Children, preschool through kindergarten, meet in their classrooms and are then taken to the chapel by their teachers. Those children joining their families in the Cathedral for Holy Eucharist will do so at the Offertory. Children not going to the Cathedral will go back to their classrooms with their teachers.
Primary Children's Worship
Children in grades 1-3 may attend an age appropriate Liturgy of the Word in the Saint Mary's Chapel on the upper level. All of these children will join their families in the Cathedral for Holy Eucharist at the Offertory.
Children's Sunday School, 10:10 - 11:05 a.m.
During the school year, classes for children preschool through grade 5 are in the three levels of classrooms off of the Atrium. See a volunteer in a green apron if you have questions.
