Members of the Cathedral have the opportunity to begin a life changing partnership with an orphan in Tanzania. Through the Carpenter’s Kids program and a pledge of $80/year for five years an HIV/AIDS orphan or other vulnerable child can be provided with a school uniform, shoes, socks, breakfast each school day and more.
The Carpenter’s Kids partnership program began in 2005 and serves to link parishes in the United States with parishes/villages in the Diocese of Central Tanganyika. In November of 2008 Bishop Alexander and Bishop Mhogolo opened the program up to include the Diocese of Atlanta and the Cathedral of St. Philip will be the first parish in Atlanta to participate.
By making the commitment to support a parish in the Diocese of Central Tanganyika for five years, you can provide 50 Carpenter's Kids with the opportunity to attend primary school. Your ministry group or organization may choose to support a DCT parish on its own, or join with other groups to support a DCT parish.
