Ministries
Find your niche among the myriad ministries, small groups and programs.
If the Cathedral of St. Philip is the Body of Christ - the living Body
of Christ - then we must acknowledge that our body is comprised of
living cells. Every organism has cells, smaller components of life who
both represent the larger body but who also perform specialized
functions. The eye is not the arm is not the kidney is not the heart.
But we all need each other.
Today, a variety of beautiful and committed groups and programs exist
at the Cathedral of St. Philip. Much of the real ministry of the
Cathedral exists in small clusters of commitment and prayer. We are
guilds, study groups, mission councils, demographic groups, prayer
groups, committees, and classes. Each of these groups has a different
function; but, together, we comprise the living body of the Cathedral
of St. Philip. The Cathedral, like any church, needs inner strength. We
are strong when our cells are strong.
This church encourages all her members to be a part of a group, whether
by attending a Sunday afternoon recital, volunteering for outreach
projects, or attending a class. It is through fellowship that we
develop relationships, and through those human relationships we grow
closer to God. Our myriad programs and fellowship groups provide
wonderful opportunities for being in a relationship. Fellowship can be
strictly social, as is the case with some groups, but it can also be a
combination of social, service and study components. The Cathedral
encourages you to explore the options and know God through community.
